Raymond Eugene Brady

Raymond E. Brady affectionately known as “Buddy” to family and friends departed this life peacefully on September 12, 2022 at Riverside Shore Memorial Hospital in Onancock, VA.

Buddy was a resident of Nassawadox and was born on June 9, 1951 in Oyster, VA. to the late Burleigh “Dick” and Julia Anne Brady. He grew up in Northampton County where he spent years working of the Chesapeake Bay along side his Daddy and other family.

Buddy was a man of God and loved his Lord and Savior, he ministered to many until his health failed him. He enjoyed woodworking and had an art for sculpturing boats with a very distinctive design. He also had a love for music where he even wrote his own songs and sang at family funerals.

In his younger years he played his guitar in a band with his brother, Sonny called The Rambling Ranch Hands where they entertained many folks.

Buddy is survived by his loving daughter Roseanne Brady of Nassawadox, VA., two adored grandchildren Willie and BreAnna Holden, special neices Jackie Abraham (Joe) of Capeville and Tracy Steuer (John) of Eastville, VA.

He was preceded in death by his brother Sonny Brady (Joyce) and sister Sandy Somers (Vernon), great nephews and neices and numerous cousins. At Buddy's request in lieu of flowers donations may be made to his grandchildrens college fund at Roseanne Brady c/o Truist Bank, P.O. Box 605,Exmore, VA. 23350.

A memorial service will be held from the graveside at Johnson's Cemetery, Johnsontown on Saturday, September 17th at 3:00 pm with Pastor Tommy Kellam officiating.
