Hector Macario Escalante Ortiz

Of Nelsonia, VA passed away at his home on Monday, March 2, 2020 at the age of 49. He is the husband of Antonieta Velasquez. Born in Guatemala on April 2, 1970 and his parents were the late, Fransisco Escalante Bartolon and Patricia Ortiz. He worked as a truck driver for Fox Brothers Inc./Greenwood Cemetery.

Hector loved spending time with his family, friends, and his church. He was a devoted Christian, father and friend. He was always willing to help anyone in need. He will be sadly missed by his family, friends, church and anyone that knew him.

Other than his wife, Antonieta, he is survived by his children, Hector Francisco Escalante, Joshua Escalante, Magno Casildo Velasquez, and Abby Escalante, four sisters, Maria Cristinia Escalante, Merli Asusena Escalante Ortiz, Odilia Escalante Ortiz, Olivia Escalante Ortiz, three brothers, Iver Escalante Ortiz, Rolando Escalante Ortiz, Rigoberto Escalante Ortiz, twenty nine nieces and twelve nephews.

There will be a Visitation held on Friday Evening, March 6, 2020 at Iglesia Bautista Hispania, De Mappsville, VA, (Mappsville Baptist Church) from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM and a Funeral Service held at same on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at 2:00 PM, with the Minister Eulojioh Vasquez officiating and  interment will be at John W. Taylor Cemetery, Temperanceville, VA.
