Louise Doughty Nottingham

Louise Doughty Nottingham, 97, of Franktown passed away at her home on Monday, June 24, 2019.

Louise was born on July 4, 1921 in Box Tree Machipongo, VA. to Edward Barry Doughty, Jr. and Gladys Charnock Doughty and was the youngest child of five children.

Moving with her family to Cape Charles at the age of four she remained there, eventually meeting her husband William Herbert Nottingham and giving birth to her three children Robert Nelson, William Francis and Cynthia Louise Nottingham. After graduating from Nursing School she worked at Shore Memorial Hospital in the operating room until retirement, after which she worked for several years in the Franktown Post Office.

Louise is survived by two grandchildren William Christopher Nottingham and wife Audrey Potter Nottingham of Franktown and Matthew Tyler Nottingahm of Richmond and two great grandchildren Tracie Dyan and Deanna Grace Nottingham.

Louise is preceded in death by her husband, her three children and four brothers Edward, Melvin, William and Charles Doughty.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 1st at 11:00 a.m. from the graveside at Johnson's Cemetery, Johnsontown with The Rev. Clarence Bowen officiating.
