Barry Norton Rieker died peacefully with his family surrounding him on February 17, 2018.  Barry was loved by many.  He was a husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend.

Barry is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 56 years Sally Ellen Rieker, a son, Kerry Rieker and his wife Mary and their three children, Brittany, Carly and Kerry-Kyle from Pennsylvania. Two daughters, Katy Hill and her fiancée Jamie Jester and their son James-Lee Jester and Katy’s daughter, Julie Hill and her fiancée Aaron Drummond and their daughter Hayley-Anne, Amy Rieker Conser and her fiancée Danny Jones and their two children, Ellie Lynn Conser and Aidan Jones, all from Chincoteague, VA.   He is preceded in death by his father, Richard Norton Rieker and his mother Dorothy Ansorg Rieker.

Barry was born on November 9, 1942 in York, Pennsylvania.  He graduated from William Penn High School in 1960.  He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy and was part of the Cuban missile blockade during the Cuban missile crisis.    Barry was an avid fisherman and often enjoyed fishing with his son or daughter. He taught them everything he knew about fishing.  He loved spending time with family and close friends. 

Barry gave his life to the Lord when he was baptized with his wife Sally, daughter Amy and granddaughter Ellie at the Church of God in Chincoteague. 

A funeral is scheduled for 1:00PM on Saturday, February 24 at The Church of God on Chincoteague with a reception to follow at the church.  Pastor Kevin Stanley will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Barry’s life.
